In Iowa, with 53 percent of the expected vote in, ABC News is projecting that Republican incumbent Gov. Kim Reynolds will win reelection over her Democratic challenger, Deidre DeJear. As of now, the margin is 55 to 43 percent. That’s a slightly bigger margin than the Senate race, where Grassley is currently leading Franken, his Democratic challenger, 53 to 47. We’ve seen split-ticket voting between Senate and governor’s races around the country, indicating that voters might be making different choices on their representation in Congress versus their state’s top executive. It could be dissatisfaction with the Biden administration, or differences in how voters view national versus local issues.
