We’ve been watching the gap between the Senate and governor races in Pennsylvania, and it’s continued to be sizable: With 46 percent of the expected vote reporting, Democrat Josh Shapiro leads Republican Doug Mastriano by about 15 points in the gubernatorial contest, while Democrat John Fetterman leads Mehmet Oz by about 5 points in the Senate race. That 10-point gap in margin between the races is sizable, especially in an era of less split-ticket voting. Further growth in that gap would probably be bad news for Fetterman, too, as Shapiro is favored to win, so the closer Fetterman can run to him, the better his chances.
