We had this race rated in Golden’s favor, and I continue to believe he’s one of Democrats’ strongest incumbents. Plus, Poliquin was never able to redefine himself in the eyes of the district’s voters. They didn’t like him at the beginning of the election, and they didn’t like him on Election Day.

And in Maine’s 2nd District, Democratic Rep. Jared Golden leads Republican Bruce Poliquin 50 percent to 43 percent. It looks like Golden has a chance to win outright, without ranked-choice voting tabulations being necessary. That’s pretty impressive for Democrats, since this was a closely contested race.
