How Election Week 2022 Went Down
ABC News projects wins for three Democratic candidates in Illinois: Reps. Sean Casten in the 6th District and Lauren Underwood in the 14th, plus Nikki Budzinski in the 13th. All three had odds north of 67 percent to win.
Balance of power in the House is now at 184 seats for Democrats and 207 for Republicans, inching along slowly towards the majority line. There are 44 seats left to call.
According to New Hampshire outlet WMUR-TV, Karoline Leavitt has conceded in New Hampshire’s 1st District, paving the way for incumbent Rep. Chris Pappas to win reelection. She was one of two Gen Zers running in tonight’s midterms. (Frost, a Democrat in Florida’s 10th, was projected to win earlier this evening.) A loss for Leavitt, on top of Hines’s recent defeat in North Carolina’s 13th, is not-so ideal for Trump-adjacent conservatives hoping to launch a new generation of far-right congressmembers.
