How Election Week 2022 Went Down
ABC News projects a Democratic win in VA-10.
Polls are now closed in New York, which has turned into an unexpected battleground for House Democrats. New York’s redistricting process was a mess, with courts throwing out the maps passed by the Legislature — the maps were heavily biased toward Democrats. The result, drawn by a court-appointed special master, was one of the most balanced and competitive maps in the country, according to the Brennan Center. And that paved the way for Republicans to make gains in the midterms. So keep an eye on this blue state — it has some important races for control of the House.
At the same time in Georgia, Kemp has pulled ahead of Abrams 53 percent to 47 percent in the overall vote count, and you can see that Kemp is beating his benchmarks in most counties across the state. This is consistent with our preelection expectations that Kemp would win — and run ahead of Walker.
