According to a FiveThirtyEight analysis of perennial losers, political candidates who lose three elections in a row are not considered serious politicians. (I’m looking at you too, Beto O’Rourke!)

Votes are starting to trickle in for Illinois, where I’m keeping an eye on a number of House races. The Democratic-controlled legislature drew an aggressive gerrymander during the most recent redistricting cycle, so it’ll be interesting to see how it plays out for Democrats.
