ABC News is reporting that Democratic Rep. Katie Porter is projected to defeat Republican Scott Baugh in California’s 47th District. Baugh seemed to have a shot at overtaking Porter as California’s vote count proceeded, but in the end Porter held off Baugh’s challenge to win a third term. Porter is one of the leading fundraisers in the House, and with 89-year old Democratic Sen. Dianne Feinstein likely to retire, Porter might eye a statewide run for Senate rather than another tough reelection battle in this light-blue seat. We’ll see!
