Yesterday, nearly every county in Colorado’s 3rd District finalized its unofficial vote totals, adding in mail ballots that voters cured over the past week (“curing” a ballot means fixing an error with it so that it will count, like confirming with a voter that that’s really her signature). That cut Republican Lauren Boebert’s lead to 551 votes, which is close enough to trigger an automatic recount. As a result, the race still doesn’t have a projected winner — but it’s very likely to be Boebert, since recounts rarely overturn margins that are that large.
