And there it is: ABC News has reported that Republican Rep. Mike Garcia is projected to win reelection in California’s 27th District, which according by their estimates gives Republicans 218 seats and ensures they have a majority at the start of the next Congress. As things currently stand, Republicans have won a net gain of five House seats. We don’t yet know which party will win the final seven districts, but those results will reveal just how large a majority the GOP ends up enjoying in Congress’s lower chamber.
