Maine’s election officials have run the ranked-choice voting tabulation for Maine’s 2nd District, and Democratic Rep. Jared Golden has won reelection over Republican Bruce Poliquin by about 6 points, 53 percent to 47 percent. (The 1st District didn’t go to ranked-choice tabulations this year, as the incumbent in that district won more than 50 percent of first-choice votes.) This was a rematch of the 2018 race in this district, when Golden turned then-Rep. Poliquin out of office in Maine’s first use of ranked-choice voting in a general election. But unlike their first meeting, Golden actually led in the first-choice vote count this time. He won about 70 percent of the second-choice votes that were cast to clear the majority mark and win the seat.
