Another ballot measure of note has passed: Illinois Amendment 1, which will enshrine collective-bargaining rights in the state constitution. Under Illinois’s unusual rules for constitutional amendments, the measure needed to get 60 percent of the votes cast in this specific race or 50 percent of the votes cast in the entire election. It got 58 percent of the vote in its race, but more than 50 percent of the total turnout, so it passed.
