We will learn the final result in at least one of our unresolved House races today: Maine’s 2nd District. According to an office spokesperson, the secretary of state plans to run the ranked-choice tabulations that will determine the winner around 4 or 5 p.m. Eastern. Democrat Jared Golden currently has 49 percent of the vote to Republican Bruce Poliquin’s 44 percent, so Golden is favored to win here. He’s much closer to the magic 50 percent threshold, and he should surpass it after the last-place candidate is eliminated and her votes reallocated to voters’ second choices.
