Based on analysis of the vote, ABC News projects that the Republican Mike Carey will win the race in Ohio’s 15th’s District. He faced Democrat Allison Russo; the two were vying control of the seat vacated by former GOP Rep. Steve Stivers.

That’s a good point, Alex. It’s pretty clear that Trump is itching to get back into the political spotlight. Last week, he published a letter to the editor (that looks a lot like one of his press releases) in the Wall Street Journal. He also attended game four of the World Series in Atlanta.

It appears he’s scrambling to get back on social media after being banned from Twitter. There’s even been reporting that advisers encouraged him to stay on the sidelines but he wanted to announce his presidential candidacy weeks, if not months, ago.

Republicans have managed to keep Trump on the sidelines so far, but he’s been pretty forthcoming about his intention to get involved in the midterms.

And that’s a wrap on a New York mayoral election that felt like it started fifty-seven years ago. Remember all those Zoom forums and debates? The botched results? Somebody named Shaun Donovan? For me, I’m still waiting on the most interesting race in New York City … in City Council District 32, where Republicans are fighting to hold onto their last non-Staten Island seat.
