Biden Is Projected To Be The President-Elect. Here’s How It All Went Down.

Maricopa County (Phoenix) is planning to report some of its votes at 9 p.m. Eastern, and with 275,000 left to tally, Arizona’s largest county could help Trump make up ground on Biden. Trump has gained some already since 7 p.m., as he’s narrowed Biden’s lead by a bit more than 8,000 net votes based on more than 50,000 newly reported votes from elsewhere in the state. More than half were from Pima County (Tucson), which split slightly in Trump’s favor despite the county’s overall Democratic lean, and Trump also got some help from solidly Republican Mohave and Yavapai counties. The end result is that Biden’s lead in Arizona is now just 1.9 percentage points, or about 58,000 votes. Maricopa’s report could boost Trump’s chances, or perhaps put Arizona more firmly in Biden’s column. Some media outlets have projected the state for Biden, including Fox News and the Associated Press, but ABC News has not made a projection.
