How The U.S. Beat The Netherlands For A Fourth Women’s World Cup Title
I’m surprised the win probability didn’t go up more. The U.S. dominated shots (5-1), shots on goal (4-0), possession (61-39), possession in the attacking third (78-22), expected goals (0.41-0.04), etc.
No backsies, Geoff.
The Dutch have to feel good about that half. They avoided the early U.S. goal. Sari van Veenendaal had two or three brilliant saves and is clearly locked in. They’ve had opportunities on the counterattack and were able to apply some sustained pressure at the very end. Can I take back my 3-0 prediction?
