Ballot scanners are breaking, which is causing long voting lines in New York City. The speaker of the city council has called for the ouster of the head of the Board of Elections. ProPublica reports some further detail: “One of the reasons for the malfunctions, according to these accounts, are scanners getting jammed when voters try to scan their paper ballots.”
